The XPENG G6 Standard Range has received Australian Design Rules approval. This approval clears the way for the more affordable G6 option to reach Australian buyers.

Powertrain and Performance
The Standard Range uses a rear-mounted electric motor. It produces 185 kW of power. The setup is rear-wheel drive only. Power comes from a 66 kWh battery pack. XPENG has not yet released official range figures for Australia. The single-motor drivetrain should deliver practical efficiency for daily use.

The continuation of the Standard Range variant ensures XPENG has a price competitive option in the most competitive segment in the EV market which features the best selling Tesla Model Y and and BYD Sealion 7, both of which have sub $60,000 options.
It is likely the updated G6 will have a more diverse line-up which will feature RWD Standard Range and Long Range and an AWD Performance variant.
