This is Australia's biggest Tesla Supercharger station

Tesla has officially opened the largest electric vehicle fast-charging site in Australia, with 20 high-speed Supercharger stalls now live in Goulburn, NSW. The new location, situated on Lockyer Street near the Big Merino, is designed to make EV travel between Sydney and Canberra easier and faster.

Tesla’s Country Director for Australia and New Zealand, Thom Drew, confirmed the site is also the largest in the southern hemisphere. Importantly, it is open to all CCS2-compatible EVs, not just Teslas.

“Right by the famous Big Merino, this is the largest site in the southern hemisphere and complements the original 8-stall site in town,” Drew said.

Charging Capacity and Pricing

The site offers the latest Tesla V4 Supercharging hardware, with each stall capable of delivering up to 250kW.

Facilities and Location

The new Supercharger hub is positioned close to food outlets and amenities, making it convenient for drivers to recharge both their cars and themselves. The well-lit location addresses previous concerns about older charging spots in Goulburn, such as the aging Tritium chargers elsewhere in the town.

Tesla already operates another site in Goulburn at the Visitor Information Centre, featuring 8 V2 stalls reserved for Tesla vehicles. The addition of this 20-stall site is expected to ease congestion on one of the busiest EV routes in NSW.

Growth of Tesla’s Charging Network in Australia

As of August 2025, Tesla operates nearly 130 charging sites across the country, with more than 80 of these open to all compatible EVs. This equates to almost two-thirds of its network being accessible beyond Tesla’s own vehicles.

Looking Ahead

With EV adoption accelerating in Australia, Tesla’s move to build bigger, more powerful charging hubs sets a strong benchmark. Large sites like Goulburn are expected to become increasingly common along major highways, encouraging other operators to follow suit with high-capacity charging solutions.
