Mazda Australia has confirmed provisional specifications for the all-new CX-6e electric SUV. The car is set to arrive in Australia in late 2026. It will be the third electric vehicle Mazda brings to Australia, and the second electric SUV after the MX-30.
The CX-6e joins the Mazda 6e electric sedan, which launched in Australia earlier this year from $49,990. Mazda Australia's Director of Sales and Marketing, Jarrod Gieschen, said the CX-6e gives customers more choice as they move into EV ownership, backed by over 100 years of Mazda experience and more than 140 dealerships nationwide.

Key Specs
The CX-6e uses a single 190kW rear-mounted electric motor driving the rear wheels. It is powered by a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Mazda claims a WLTP range of more than 450km and a fast charge from 30 to 80 percent in as little as 15 minutes.

Design and Technology
The CX-6e is built on Changan's EPA1 electric platform, developed through Mazda's partnership with Chinese automaker Changan. The exterior follows Mazda's updated Kodo design language, described as 'FUTURE + SOUL x MODERN'. The car is 4,850mm long and 1,935mm wide, making it larger than the current CX-5 and the Tesla Model Y.
Inside, the CX-6e features a 26-inch 5K display that spans from the centre of the dashboard to the passenger side. There is no traditional instrument cluster. A large head-up display handles driving information. The car also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 23-speaker sound system, and gesture controls.

Mazda's Third EV for Australia
The CX-6e is the third electric vehicle Mazda is bringing to Australia. The first was the MX-30, a small electric SUV with a 35.5kWh battery and around 200km of real-world range. The second is the Mazda 6e sedan, which launched in 2026 from $49,990. The CX-6e is the second electric SUV in Mazda's Australian lineup.

Note: Mazda CX-6e pricing is indicative, based on the Mazda 6e's Australian starting price of $49,990 and the CX-6e's estimated UK price of around £45,000. All prices are before on-road costs unless stated. Specs are for base/RWD variants.
Indicative Pricing
Mazda has not confirmed Australian pricing for the CX-6e. However, we can make an educated estimate. The Mazda 6e sedan starts at $49,990 in Australia. In the UK, the 6e starts at £38,995 and the CX-6e is expected to start at around £45,000. That is roughly a 15 percent premium over the sedan. Applying a similar gap to the Australian 6e price, the CX-6e could start somewhere around $55,000 to $60,000. Full pricing will be confirmed closer to the launch date.

What to Expect at Launch
Mazda says full pricing and specifications will be revealed closer to the launch date. The CX-6e will be sold through Mazda's existing dealer network of more than 140 locations across Australia. Two trim levels are expected: Takumi and Takumi Plus. Standard features are expected to include heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, keyless entry and the 26-inch touchscreen.
The CX-6e has a 468-litre boot and an 80-litre frunk. It seats five and has a towing capacity of 1,500kg. Three drive modes are available: Normal, Sport and Individual.
