Go EV the Australian distributor of SINEXCEL electric car chargers has revealed that ten of their 80kW units will be added to the NRMA network soon.
These new SINEXCEL 80kW chargers will be used to upgrade existing NRMA charger locations.
The SINEXCEL SEC80 model is equipped with:
- 2 DC charging connectors, which supports output at a maximum of 1000V and 80kW full power.
- 15" HD high-contrast touchscreen.
- 100% Charging speed maximum up to 50 °C; 50-65 °C temperature derating.
While these new chargers are capable of 80kW, they will operate at 50kW for the moment. Likely due to grid power connection limitations.
Since the hardware has the potential to operate at upto 80kW, this can be enabled in the future after grid capacity is increased.
This is excellent news as it means over time the minimum EV charging speed on the NRMA network could eventually be 80kW instead of 50kW.
Victorian EV drivers who have used SINEXCEL chargers for some time report they are reliable and easy to use.

Mark Lampard, Managing Director of go EV commented:
"It is always a great day when you can deliver big things with your partners".
"These SINEXCEL 80kW DC fast chargers are the first 10 units headed out as upgrades to various sites across The NRMA’s national connected EV charging network".
"All units are quality checked, fully configured and tested in our factory to ensure that site delivery and installation goes according to plan".
"Thanks to the team at The NRMA that have supported and placed their faith in me and go EV to deliver on such an important mission, to connect Australians across our vast nation as we transition from fossil fuelled transport to an electrified future".

Hopefully these SINEXCEL chargers replace 10 of the very oldest unreliable 50kW Tritium EV chargers which have regularly been out of order, damaging the NRMA's reputation as a reliable charging network.

The mention of "the first 10 units" could be a hint that perhaps all of the old 50kW NRMA Tritium chargers will be replaced by 80kW SINEXCEL chargers.
If this is the case it would go a long way towards improving the confidence Australia's EV community have in the NRMA Charging network.
