Comments

During the early days of Australian EV public charging Evie Networks installed a series of fast chargers along the East Coast of Australia, including at several BP service stations.

Over 4 years later that Evie/BP partnership has ended amicably.

An Evie Networks spokesperson told me:

"Earlier this year we made a standalone strategic decision to transition five sites in NSW and ACT to new ownership with BP. This decision reflects a unique, mutually beneficial agreement with BP, with whom we have enjoyed a productive partnership from the outset".
"We now have new sites nearby, with more on the way, that are better aligned with our customers' needs for convenient charging options namely; Caringbah – HomeCo Caringbah, Kingston – Fyshwick markets, Expansion of Bakehouse Quarter to 6 bays and Derrimut Village now 4 bays."

Understandably Evie is trying to retain their previously regular customers at the former bp locations, by letting them know of the change and where to find other Evie chargers nearby:

Looking forward, the Evie spokesperson told me that EV drivers will soon be able to use these new Evie charge locations:

November:

  • Hungry Jacks Chermside, ACT
  • Riverlink Shopping Centre, QLD

December (in progress)

  • Brighton Metro Hotel, SA
  • Fyshwick Fresh Food Market, ACT
  • Neil David Pl – Public carpark, TAS
  • Richmond Library, VIC
  • Morgan’s IGA – Sunbury, VIC
  • Banora Shopping Village, NSW

EV drivers who visit the two Melbourne BP service stations at Northpoint (Epping North) and Caroline Springs looking to recharge their cars will get a pleasant surprise as each location now has a lot of new bp pulse chargers, detailed here .
