Chery Australia is asking the public to name its upcoming plug-in hybrid diesel ute. The winner gets to take home the first one when it arrives in Australia later this year.

What Is the Ute?
Currently known as the “KP31” concept, the new model is set to arrive in late 2026. It combines a diesel engine with plug-in hybrid technology, making it the world's first ute of its kind. It has a 1000kg payload and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes.

How to Enter
Go to the Chery Australia website and submit a name along with a short explanation of why it suits the vehicle. Chery will review all entries, shortlist the best ones, and put them to a public vote before picking the winner.
The competition opens at 12:00pm AEDT on Thursday 12 March 2026 and closes at 11:50pm AEDT on Thursday 26 March 2026.
