Key Points
- Ampol has opened AmpCharge public EV chargers at four shopping centres across NSW, QLD and VIC.
- The new sites include ECQ Outlet and Stockland Merrylands in NSW, Carseldine Village in QLD, and Watergardens Shopping Centre in VIC.
- AmpCharge now operates over 90 DC charging sites across Australia, with 16 more NSW locations listed as upcoming.
Ampol has added four new AmpCharge public EV charging sites at shopping centres along the East Coast. The new locations span New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, continuing the network's push into destination charging away from traditional service stations.
The AmpCharge network has grown to over 90 DC sites nationally, with 16 additional NSW locations listed as upcoming on the AmpCharge website.
New Locations
The four new AmpCharge sites are now open at the following shopping centres:
New AmpCharge Shopping Centre Locations
Location | State | Charging Bays |
AmpCharge ECQ Outlet (Eastern Creek Quarter) | NSW | 6 bays |
AmpCharge Stockland Merrylands | NSW | 6 bays |
AmpCharge Carseldine Village | QLD | Not confirmed |
AmpCharge Watergardens Shopping Centre | VIC | Not confirmed |
ECQ Outlet, Eastern Creek NSW
AmpCharge has opened six EV charging bays in the outdoor carpark at ECQ Outlet (Eastern Creek Quarter) in western Sydney. The site allows EV drivers to charge while shopping or dining at the outlet centre.
Stockland Merrylands, NSW
Six AmpCharge bays are now live on the P5 carpark at Stockland Merrylands. The site is open daily from 6am to 10pm. Standard carpark rates apply on top of AmpCharge pricing, which is available through the Ampol app.
Stockland Merrylands is part of a broader partnership between Ampol and Stockland announced in April 2024. That deal covers 16 Stockland retail town centres across NSW, VIC, QLD and WA, with between six and 12 charging bays at each site.
Carseldine Village, QLD
Carseldine Village in Brisbane's north has received a new AmpCharge installation. Carseldine was also one of the five original AmpCharge pilot sites launched in 2022, when chargers were installed at an Ampol service station in the area. The Carseldine Village site is a separate destination charger at the shopping centre.

Watergardens Shopping Centre, VIC
Watergardens Shopping Centre in Taylors Lakes, 24 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, has also received AmpCharge infrastructure. The centre has over 220 stores and is one of Melbourne's larger suburban retail destinations.
AmpCharge Network Size
Ampol launched AmpCharge in early 2022 with five pilot sites and a plan to roll out 120 locations by the end of 2023. That rollout ran behind schedule, with the company citing delays in electrical connection approvals and third-party development consents.
The network has since grown to over 90 DC sites nationally. In 2024, the federal government provided $100 million to help fund a further 200 EV fast charging bays by 2025. Ampol's stated target is more than 300 AmpCharge bays across more than 100 Australian sites.
