What the offer is
Tesla Australia is taking about 5% off new Model 3 and Model Y cars already sitting in its inventory. On a Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive that is up to $2950 off, dropping the list price from $58,900 to $55,950 before on-road costs.
The discount shows up as a "Reduced by" figure on each car on Tesla's Australian inventory site. It is a fixed amount for each variant, equal to 5% of the list price before on-road costs.

Prices are before on-road costs. Many inventory cars carry paint, wheel, or interior options, so individual listings sit higher. In Sydney, the cheapest discounted Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive was listed at $61,020 drive-away at the time of writing.
Why the cars are discounted
Tesla opened orders for the updated MY27 Model 3 and Model Y on 1 October 2026, with deliveries due later this month. The discounted cars are older stock built before those upgrades, so Tesla is clearing them before the new cars land.
The MY27 update adds Power Share vehicle-to-load across the range, a 16-inch centre screen in every Model 3, a dark headliner on Model 3 Premium and Performance, and quicker acceleration for the Model Y Premium Long Range and L Premium. List prices for most variants are unchanged, so a discounted inventory car is the cheaper way in if you can live without those features.
Who it suits
- Buyers who want a quicker delivery. Inventory cars are already built, so they usually arrive sooner than a factory order.
- Novated lease and finance buyers. A lower purchase price lowers the amount financed.
- Anyone who does not need Power Share vehicle-to-load or the latest cabin updates.
Discounted cars are still covered by Tesla's five-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty for private buyers on new Model 3 and Model Y cars delivered from 1 January 2026.
Terms to check
- Tesla has not announced the discount publicly or given an end date. It appears only on inventory listings and can change at any time.
- The new $45,900 Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive is not discounted.
- Some discounted listings show a 2027 year. Tesla has not published which inventory cars include MY27 features, so confirm the specification of the exact car before you buy.
- Discounts were verified across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane postcodes on 5 October 2026.
